Murali Aravamudan
Founder and CEO

Murali Aravamudan is a pioneer and experienced leader in the fields of data networking, telephony, multimedia and broadband technologies. His vast experience in these fields has fostered a culture of innovation at Veveo, Inc. which promises to help define the next generation of the web. In 2003, Mr. Aravamudan spearheaded the successful acquisition of his company Winphoria Networks by Motorola.

Mr.Aravamudan founded Winphoria Networks in March of 2000, helping to create the groundbreaking Mobile Wireless SoftSwitch and Instant Communications applications for CDMA and GSM networks. When Winphoria was acquired by Motorola in May, 2003, Mr. Aravamudan served as the vice president and general manager of the Winphoria Division of Motorola’s Global Telecom Solutions Sector.

Prior to founding Winphoria, Mr. Aravamudan served as vice president and chief technology officer of the Communications Software Business at Lucent Technologies and as a department head of Communications Software Research at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill. In addition, Mr. Aravamudan founded and served as president of Isochrone Inc., an internet multimedia software company. He was also the principal architect of AT&T’s Internet Enhanced Technology Services.

Mr. Aravamudan has authored 31 US patents, with an additional 25 patent applications pending in data networking, telephony, database, and multimedia technologies.

Ajit Rajasekharan
Founder and VP of Technology

Ajit Rajasekharan successfully develops and deploys new interactive applications. Rajasekharan’s experience in engineering and developing interactive, educational technology and secure audio transmission over the Internet allows him to create and understand the rules of success in a web dominated world. In his role at Veveo, Inc., Rajasekharan’s hands-on approach to technological excellence is establishing a new standard in how consumers access video content over the web.

Prior to founding Veveo with Murali Aravamudan, Rajasekharan founded Readia, an educational technology company. Readia was funded by top U.S. venture capitalists and created patented technology that brought interactivity to the printed page. In addition to his experience at Veveo and Readia, Rajasekharan was the senior director of AudibleReady architecture at Audible where he oversaw the creation of end-to-end distribution infrastructure for secure delivery of audio over the Internet.

Guru Pai
VP of Marketing and Business Development

Guru Pai leads the marketing and business development efforts at Veveo. His experience in the wireless, cable, optical networking and data networking industries gives him the unique technical and business know-how to take a leading role in the introduction of Veveo’s new web video technology. Pai comes to Veveo from Motorola, where he was vice president of the Core Networks Product Line for Motorola Networks. In that position, he was responsible for product management for the Core Networks Division and for core network strategy.

Pai joined Motorola in April 2003 through its acquisition of Winphoria Networks, Inc., where he was vice president of business development, product management and marketing. Prior to joining Winphoria Networks, Inc., he was an area vice president at Lucent where he was instrumental in establishing Lucent's leadership position with emerging wireless and wireline service providers. Prior to Lucent, he held various managing positions in systems engineering and technical planning for the optical, switching, and wireless divisions of AT&T and AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Harris Fishman
CFO

Harris Fishman, a veteran in the fields of finance and technology, is CFO of Veveo. In addition to his work at Veveo, Fishman served as CFO for a number of high- profile companies in diverse industries including software, telecommunications and new media. Prior to joining Veveo, Harris served as the founding CFO of Sonus Networks, Winphoria Networks, the Family Education Network (acquired by Pearson), Viaweb (acquired by Yahoo!) and VideoServer. Fishman, a certified public accountant, was previously a senior manager at Deloitte & Touche and co-founder of the Boston office's High Technology and Emerging Business Group.

Mike Koenig
VP Sales and Service

An experienced executive with more than 17 years of experience with both emerging businesses and Fortune 500 firms, Michael Koenig leads Veveo’s sales and supports teams. Prior to joining Veveo, Koenig successfully led sales, service and marketing teams at software, communications and networking companies.

As vice president of converged communications at Motorola, Koenig led the product management, development support, 3rd parties and new product introduction teams. While at Motorola, Koenig was instrumental in launching emerging products that included Push-2-X, IMS and Seamless Mobility. Prior to Motorola, Koenig was vice president of worldwide sales and service for Winphoria Networks, where he helped to evolve the company from initial product concept to successful commercial deployments.

Koenig also held sales, marketing and business development positions with Jato Communications, Lucent Technologies and AT&T Communications.

Rakesh Barve
VP, Veveo India

Rakesh is responsible for Veveo’s operations in India where he manages the engineering and product development teams. Prior to Veveo, Barve worked at Winphoria Networks which was acquired by Motorola in May of 2003. At Winphoria, Rakesh contributed to the development and commercial deployment of the world’s first soft-switching based Mobile Switching Center. Before Winphoria Networks, Rakesh worked at Bell Laboratories where he worked on Voice over ATM aspects of a wire line soft switch product and solutions to provide failure resistant and fast restorable network path routing algorithms in an optical networking system.

Rakesh has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay and a Ph.D. from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. His research work at Duke was in the area of online and external memory algorithms. He has published numerous algorithms and systems papers in peer reviewed computer science Conferences and Journals; and has several patents (some pending) in the area of I/O systems and search techniques for input and display constrained devices.

Daren Gill
Vice President and GM vTap

Daren serves as Vice President and General Manager of Veveo’s consumer service vTap. Daren brings 13 years of media and entertainment experience to Veveo having performed a broad range of roles including executive management, marketing, sales and product management. Prior to Veveo, Daren served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at ChoiceStream. Before ChoiceStream, Daren was Senior Vice President Marketing at MusicMaker.com. Prior to joining MusicMaker, Daren served as COO of Putumayo World Music, a record label presenting the best in Latin, African, Reggae, Celtic and other world music compilations. Daren began his career as an attorney focused on entertainment law, but left private practice to co-found the Hear Music record label. Daren has J.D. from the University Of Connecticut School Of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the same University. He is a frequent industry speaker on the topics of personalization, social networking and the semantic web.
